When the passion for the most prestigious bottles of wine is combined with solidarity, new opportunities for “charity” always arise. Like the “Wine Day”, the charity auction of great Italian wines at edition n. 15 on 15 October at the Reale Circolo Canottieri di Tevere Remo in Rome, promoted by “Emergenza Sorrisi” thanks to the collaboration and support of 45 of the most important Italian companies, and whose proceeds will be destined for the first surgical mission in Mali which will take place in February 2022 in the health district of Bamako, to restore the hope of a smile for over 85 young patients with facial deformities.
For the Emergenza Sorrisi initiative, once again, it received the concrete support of the Mediolanum Onlus Foundation, ready to double the amounts obtained from the auction of the first 5,000 euros, as well as being our charity partner. Organized under the patronage of Confagricoltura, the initiative, explain the promoters, was joined by wineries from every Italian region, like the Tuscan Carpineto, to name one, which donated a special celebratory box of the award-winning Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Docg in three vintages (2010, 2011 and 2013) entered the “Top 100” best wines in the world of “Wine Spectator ”(the only winery to have received this recognition in the history of the Denomination three times in the last five editions), which will be auctioned, together with the other prestigious wines, by the auctioneer Pier Matteo Carnaroli.
“In the past, with this initiative, many children were able to find a smile again thanks to the funds raised with the sale of Italian wine excellences – recalls Fabio Abenavoli, president of” Emergenza Sorrisi “- the over 40 wineries of all the Regions that have chosen to support us, demonstrate that Italy is truly a country of solidarity.
This “Wine Day” 2021 is even more important because it will serve to support our first surgical mission in Mali. We will work side by side with the local doctors at the Hospital-Chu-Cnos in Bamako to transfer our knowledge to them and to start with them a continuous training course capable of helping more and more children to remove the stigma of being born with a malformation. of the face “.
The solidarity event will also present “Smiles for Value”, an innovative art competition in collaboration with Nartist, which is both a fundraiser for the next surgical missions in Africa, and a talent scouting on art that accompanies any citizen , company or institution, looking for new creative talents.
