Wine and solidarity, a combination that often meets, thanks to the producers, to give life to interesting social projects and in the sign of inclusion and respect for the territory. A beautiful story comes from the Marche and, precisely, from Ascoli Piceno. The protagonists are the Socio-Educational Day Center for Autism L’Orto di Paolo, a structure with therapeutic value managed by the Pa.Ge.F.Ha Onlus Social Cooperative, which works in support of subjects suffering from autism spectrum disorders or with serious cognitive and communication problems, and Angela Velenosi, the “Lady of Piceno”, founder of Velenosi Vini, who has always been careful to communicate the values of her territory through her wines but also sensitive to the issue of social inclusion and support for fragile categories. From this partnership was born the limited edition Falerio Doc, a wine signed by L’Orto di Paolo, bottled by Velenosi Vini and born thanks to the harvest carried out by some of the guests of the structure, the proceeds of which will be entirely donated to the Center.
Angela Velenosi opened her vineyards at L’Orto di Paolo so that some young people could participate in the harvest in the last days of September, with young people who gave free rein to their creativity by also creating the label. “That of L’Orto di Paolo – ear Angela Velenosi – it is a reality of Ascoli excellence that I have known for some time and whose initiatives I have always appreciated. When the opportunity arose to contribute concretely to their activities, I immediately thought of welcoming some of the guests of the structure and letting them participate in our harvest, thus allowing them to produce their own wine, the Falerio Doc Special Edition. This bottle, which we hope many will buy, is enriched with a secret ingredient, which can only be found here: the love and passion that these fantastic guys have put into their work in our vineyards, making that September day unforgettable for everyone “. As part of the activities proposed to the guests of the structure, educators and socio-health workers also undertake to identify life opportunities full of significant situations, predictable in naturalistic and rural spaces. And the harvest was a successful and appreciated initiative.
“The project – are the words of doctors Sara Baligioni and Mirko Loreti, administrators of the Cooperative that manages L’Orto di Paolo – stems from the need to identify adequate responses to the problem of the evolution of autistic disorder in youth and to organize and guarantee a context in which interventions of a socio-health nature, care of the community living environment and existential planning, insertions in rehabilitative work realities (such as agricultural, livestock and maintenance activities) are integrated in a coherent way “.
