1866: returning home, from the Third War of Independence, inspired by the encounter with a farmer, in whose vineyard he wanted to work, Antonio Carpena it becomes aware of the need to study new vineyard management methods, in order to obtain higher quality grapes and wines than in the past. Returning to teaching at the University, he transfers his lessons to the square proclaiming his theories on how to enhance the territory and its resources. To listen to him, students, farmers and Angelo Malvolti, with whom he will form a fraternal friendship and a long partnership that will lead to the birth of the Trevigiana Wine Society, the current Carpenè-Malvolti, and of Prosecco. It is the story of “I, The Wine” by the Finnish Ville Niemi, winner of the “Carpenè-Malvolti Script Contest”, the competition for young directors and novice screenwriters dedicated to the wine companies of the historic Conegliano winery, founded by the “father” of Prosecco , to the history of the Italian wine most loved by the new generations and the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the “Ca ‘Foscari Short Film Festival 2022” on stage, in recent days, in Venice, with cinema students from all over the world.
