The largest event in the territory, a pioneer of its kind in Italy of wine in combining the tasting of great wines, experiences in the cellar and in nature, cuisine, sport and culture, calls together lovers of bubbles: the “Franciacorta Festival in Cantina 2021 “(11-12 and 18-19 September), the widespread event, which arrived at edition no. 12, among the rows of Franciacorta to get to know its history and the stories of its cellars up close, which open their doors to the beauties of the area such as monasteries, castles and historic residences immersed in the vineyards of the famous and beloved Classic Method.
Tastings and guided tours, but also tours in the vineyards, picnics between the rows, bicycle excursions are just some of the proposals that are the most popular among wine tourists and that will animate the 65 wineries protagonists of the Festival, under the direction of the Consortium Franciacorta and the patronage of Terra della Franciacorta, whose goal is to involve wine lovers, bringing them to the territory of choice of Franciacorta to make known, through a rich program of wine & food experience, its companies and its producers, but also its versatility, on occasions of consumption, in accompanying eno-cultural events, and, of course, in the wine-pairing, thanks to the gourmet proposals of local restaurateurs, custodians of the local cuisine, and of the great chefs, who reinterpret it with creativity.
Ample space will be dedicated to sportsmen, who can venture among the vineyards and hills of Franciacorta by trekking and following itineraries on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, as well as to families who will have the opportunity to have fun with playful initiatives and picnics in nature. There is no better time to get lost in between the many places of historical interest, castles, monasteries and museums that dot the Strada del Franciacorta where art lovers will be spoiled for choice among charming villages, abbeys and villas surrounded by greenery.
A rich proposal, which attracts more and more visitors from all over Italy, for which ad hoc tourist packages have been designed with weekend stay proposals in combinations of all kinds including wineries, farmhouses, hotels, restaurants and trattorias. The main meeting point will obviously be the cellars, which, for their guests, have created original and imaginative events (booking of visits is mandatory by contacting the cellars directly, ed).
And, from 10 to 24 September, the Franciacorta Consortium hosts the photographic exhibition “Donne ConTurbanti” by Guido Taroni in support of DeediVita, an initiative born in 2016 from a collaboration between the historic textile company Mantero and the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, for the creation of a special turban dedicated to all women being treated in the facility for an oncological pathology. The new limited edition of the turban will be dedicated to Franciacorta, with a wonderful vintage-themed motif, and the proceeds will go to a charity collection that will allow turbans to be donated to cancer patients in hospitals in the Brescia area through the widespread and personalized help of the Esa-Education for Active Health Association.
