In South Tyrol, the Quellenhof Resort in Val Passiria reopens on 6 April.

Well-being and taste, with a selection of dishes from the local to Teppanyaki.

Heinrich Dorfer is the owner who gives happy news:

“We are very happy to leave after the long period of closure. Ready with the staff to welcome guests in complete safety, with some new features, such as the “Rooftop-Spa” with panoramic sauna and infinity pool entirely in glass, and with the health support services offered by the Quellenhof Medical Center and the dental office inside the Spa “.

An increasingly studied and dedicated luxury, which make the award-winning resorts of the Dorfer family an ideal destination for any type of holiday, thanks to the incomparable offer in all sectors: from wellness to gastronomy, from active to family proposals.

We speak in the plural because there are two structures, both 5 stars, one in the Val Passiria in South Tyrol and the other Lazise on Lake Garda.

But let’s go back to where we started, in South Tyrol near Merano, we have already talked about this structure, last summer when we left after the lockdown period: read HERE!

After a long period of closure, which began on November 2, 2020, the resort is ready to start again!

And it does so with great enthusiasm, from all the staff and from the owner Heinrich Dorfer who underlines the fact that

South Tyrol is a destination with many strengths: open spaces surrounded by nature, accessibility, the presence of structures that have invested a lot to adapt to hygiene and safety measures and which today guarantee maximum quality and protection.

In support of the health of guests, traveling for business or for health reasons, the resort also offers special packages at the Quellenhof Medical Center and the service of the dental office inside the Spa.

The months of closure were then used to carry out some maintenance and modernization of the structure.

  • And so, the Guesthouse F (ex-Forellenhof) shines in a new design, the rooms have been expanded and renovated.
  • In addition, a new wellness area was created, the “Rooftop-Spa” with a panoramic sauna, an all-glass “infinity” pool and other relaxation areas.
  • … And then lots of news to discover!

To ensure a covid-free environment, the Quellenhof Resort staff is regularly subjected to control tests and, with regard to the methods of welcoming customers, specific documentation and tests are required from the guests, with the possibility for Italians to carry out the test before check in.

Once at the hotel, guests can enjoy the entire resort with no limitations, other than having to book for steam in the sauna.

The strengths of the structure remain, from the variety of suites and rooms to choose from, to the saunas and swimming pools, including outdoor ones, from pampering in the interior spaces of the resort to the chalet in the woods, from relaxing activities to enjoyable sports.

For us of Food stories obviously catering is of fundamental importance and here there is no lack of choice and quality.

A possibility of à la carte restaurant and Quellenhof Gourmetstube 1897 (since 2016).

managed by Chef Michael Mayr with his team of 40 people, including specifically with him in the kitchen there are three sous chefs: Karin Ennemoser, Klaus Burgstaller and Roman Vidovic.

South Tyrol offers many local products of great quality.

Examples include fresh herbs directly from the resort’s garden, spices and fish, which is delivered fresh, every day, from the fish farm located in nearby San Leonardo in Passiria, where the fresh water of the mountain stream offers optimal conditions for the breeding of beautiful and healthy fish.

The search for spices is one of the activities that is proposed, during long walks in the company of the entire kitchen brigade, to get to rediscover ancient herbs to shape and combine with the chef’s dishes.

And then, icing on the cake, the First Teppanyaki Restaurant in South Tyrol with Japanese cuisine by Chef Roman Vidovic.

The Bistro “Atmosphera”, bar and cigar-lounge, is also added to the list, in summer also a poolbar.

The wine cellar adapts to the rest and does not leave you indifferent, with over 700 fine labels, rarities and vintages starting from 1943, with particular attention to those of Alto Adige.

To advise guests Matteo Lattanzi passionate sommelier, who loves to ensure the perfect match between wine and food.

So we leave with great enthusiasm for this splendid 5-star Val Passiria, ready to give guests traveling for work or health reasons an after Easter full of relaxation and well-being, in a period in which luxury is just that.
