The war between Russia and Ukraine, on the one hand, and the anti-Covid measures in China, on the other, in their drama and complexity, have introduced critical elements in the management of promotion projects in third countries financed by the wine CMO. And, according to rumors WineNews, today in an internal meeting, the Ministry of Agriculture would have anticipated to the representatives of the supply chain the arrival of a new provision that would introduce elements of flexibility in the management of promotion projects related to the year 2021-2022. In particular, downward variations should become possible, up to the total zeroing of the budget, for those projects destined for the countries affected by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and / or the possibility of reshaping the resources towards other countries already included in the approved project, and the same flexibility should also apply to China, in consideration of the new prevention measures adopted by the Chinese government to deal with some new outbreaks attributable to the Covid-19 pandemic, with extensive and rigid lockdowns in some large cities. In addition, there was also talk of the future, in particular for the announcement on the year 2022-2023, which will be played over a shorter time window than the norm (from 1 January 2023 to 15 October 2023) for the execution of promotion projects. . First of all, with resources currently available on the national tender of 9 million euros, which could, however, go up to 15 million euros, there would be the intention to reduce the maximum allowable contribution from 3 to 2 million euros per project, to concentrate less resources on a few projects.In any case, more should be known already on 11 May, when the Ministry plans to present both measures at the State Regions Conference, to allow changes to the projects underway by June, and the presentation of the 2022-2023 projects by June. July 2022.
