More than a certainty, a hope: Feudi di San Gregorio, Irpinia brand led by Antonio Capaldo, with companies in Friuli Venezia Giulia (Sirch), in Bolgheri (Campo alle Comete), on Etna (Federico Graziani), in Basilicata (Basilisco ) and in Puglia (Ognissole), is ready to reopen the doors of its cellar. Probably in May 2021, when the current decree will be replaced by what, hopefully and a little at all levels, will reopen most of the country’s commercial and non-commercial activities. Starting from wine tourism, which from Feudi San Gregorio mainly passes for tastings in the wine theater, with the “vines in comparison” initiative, which began before the closing times, and from picnics in the vineyard.
Each day on the calendar there will be different experiences:
visits to the cellar will resume (including thematic ones, with a focus on art or single vines), walks in the vineyard, wine tastings and the new picnic formulas: from the “classic” one to the “lunch in the garden”, with different gourmet proposals. The winery will make its most beautiful spaces available to wine lovers – the blooming rose garden, the amphitheater, the garden of aromatic herbs – to allow guests to take advantage of the days outdoors, but also the possibility to book right now between picnics, visits to the cellar with tasting and lunches and gourmet dinners at Marennà restaurant by chef Roberto Allocca. Furthermore, during the whole summer period, it will be possible to stay overnight in the cellar, in one of the five rooms of the guesthouse among the vineyards.
Among the many ideas to enjoy the open spaces and satisfy all the curiosities about the world of wine, a rich and varied program, which among the various proposals includes yoga in the vineyard, the guided tasting of the new vintages of whites – Falanghina, Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo – to discover many curiosities, and vertical tastings, which by comparing different vintages can reserve beautiful surprises, such as the vertical of Greco di Tufo to discover how certain whites – like reds – have enormous aging potential.
