In Sondrio a charity dinner organized with the Opera Don Bosco Onlus, Friday 30 November.

The Opera Don Bosco Onlus Foundation of Milan together with the Sondrio Prison organizes “Sondrio Jazz Solidale”, an evening of music, traditional flavors and solidarity.

Organized for Friday 30 November at 19:00 at the “Don Vittorio Chiari” Multifunctional Hall in Sondrio (Piazza San Rocco, 1), the evening represents an opportunity to reflect on important issues such as social redemption, the harsh conditions in which so many children of the world live, especially in India, while allowing oneself to be accompanied by excellent music.

The evening will begin with a jazz concert during which Claudio Chiara and a quintet of professional musicians will pay homage to the jazz poetry of Art Pepper and Buddy De Franco recreating the atmosphere of the time.

Their music will come interspersed with the presence of a group of inmates from the Sondrio Prison, engaged in reading some passages the result of a path of emancipation and reflection carried out during their stay in prison, where the

for years it has been carrying out projects and workshops also related to cooking.

The concert and the readings will lead the participants to the actual moment of the dinner, with dishes cooked by Gianluca Bassola of the well-known Trippi restaurant.

The concert dinner will be free of charge (minimum € 25), the entire proceeds will be donated to a project of the Opera Don Bosco Onlus Foundation in support of the children of Namakkal, India. An area where Don Bosco Anbu Illam is located, a center where about 60 orphaned children and young people of parents with AIDS, a disease that affects many people in India are hosted.

Here the Salesians welcome them and accompany them in their growth, guaranteeing accommodation, food, accompaniment in the study, medical care and medicines, a counseling service and psychological support. There have been many steps forward, but help is needed every day for those who crowd the dormitory.

These events are also an example of beautiful food stories behind bars.
